Children’s content creator responds to family’s fundraiser by covering the full amount sought.

A Filipino parent’s online fundraiser received a major boost after American children’s content creator Rachel Griffin-Accurso, popularly known as Ms. Rachel, donated $5,000 to help cover the needs of a child diagnosed with omphalocele.

The donation came after Daisy, the child’s mother, shared a video on Threads of her son singing “I Love a Rainbow,” one of his favorite songs from Ms. Rachel’s content.

Alongside the video, Daisy asked Ms. Rachel to share the fundraiser for her younger child, who has a birth defect in which abdominal organs develop outside the body through an opening in the abdominal wall.

Instead of simply sharing the fundraiser, Ms. Rachel said she had donated the full amount being sought at the time.

“I donated the full amount. ❤️ He’s so precious and much love to the whole family. Hope his brother feels better soon,” Ms. Rachel replied to Daisy’s post.

The $5,000 contribution also appears on the family’s GoGetFunding campaign, documenting the donation following the social media exchange.

The donation comes as Ms. Rachel continues to use her large online following for humanitarian causes, particularly her advocacy for children affected by the war in Gaza.

Her stance has also made her a target of criticism, with her public comments about Gaza and her use of the term “genocide” drawing backlash from pro-Israel groups and conservative commentators.

Ms. Rachel has continued speaking about the issue despite the criticism, including recently calling out celebrities she believes have remained silent about children suffering in global conflicts.
