Songwriter’s Night Select 2026 highlights a new wave of creators from across the Philippines.
The spotlight is firmly on the creators behind Original Pilipino Music as the Filipino Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (FILSCAP) stages Songwriter’s Night Select 2026 at the Music Museum on Friday as part of the celebration of Linggo ng Musikang Pilipino.
The concert brings together 15 promising songwriters from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, giving them a national platform to perform their original compositions before fellow musicians, industry leaders, and OPM supporters.

The artists earned their spots after standing out in FILSCAP’s Songwriter’s Night open mic series, where participants were assessed for the quality of their compositions, originality, and live performances.

As independent musicians continue to thrive in the digital era, FILSCAP aims to remind audiences that every memorable hit begins with a songwriter.
Headlining the evening as special guest is singer-songwriter Angela Ken, whose success through self-penned songs has made her one of the country’s most recognizable young music artists. Her journey reflects how original compositions can resonate with listeners and open doors for aspiring musicians.
