Mexican beauty Fátima Bosch Fernández (as named in official reports) clinches the Miss Universe 2025 crown in Bangkok after a controversy-filled edition. The Philippines’ Ahtisa Manalo finishes strong in the Top 5 as Filipino brands and personalities take center stage at the 74th Miss Universe.
Fátima Bosch Fernández of Mexico is Miss Universe 2025.
The 23-year-old standout claimed the iconic crown on Friday, November 21, in Bangkok, triumphing over more than a hundred hopefuls from around the world.
Rounding out the results were Praveenar Singh of Thailand as first runner-up, Stephany Abasali of Venezuela as second runner-up, Ahtisa Manalo of the Philippines as third runner-up, and Olivia Yacé of Côte d’Ivoire as fourth runner-up.
Bosch succeeds Denmark’s Victoria Theilvig, officially joining the roster of modern Miss Universe titleholders. Her victory caps off one of the most turbulent and headline-grabbing editions of the pageant—defined by executive disputes between the Mexican and Thai leadership, a reported walkout involving Bosch, and the resignation of judges over alleged irregularities.
Manalo’s strong showing delights Filipinos
The Philippines’ Ahtisa Manalo delivered a powerful run that earned her a Top 5 finish. Fans celebrated her placement but admitted they were hoping she would secure the country’s long-awaited fifth Miss Universe crown. With multiple international titles already under her belt, Manalo stepped onto the global stage with remarkable polish, drawing loud cheers every time she appeared.
Throughout the competition, she showcased her signature poise, precise pasarela, and articulate responses. During the Q&A segment, she emphasized her desire to uplift young people from underprivileged communities, reinforcing her advocacy-driven approach to pageantry.
The Philippines’ influence was felt across the entire production. The delegates wore swimsuits designed by Bench, marking a historic first for the Filipino fashion powerhouse. Bench unveiled two custom collections.
The 2025 Miss Universe crown was crafted by Jewelmer, while Philippine Airlines served as an airline partner. Filipino entertainer Louie Heredia sat on the judging panel, and backstage interviews featured familiar Filipino favorites, including Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel and former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres, who famously launched a career in the Philippines in the ’90s.
Bosch impressed both viewers and the selection committee with her composed, empowering responses. When asked about the challenges women face in 2025 and how she would use the Miss Universe platform to create safer spaces, she answered:
“As a woman, as Miss Universe, I will put my voice and power in the service of others. Today, we speak up, we lead change, and we stand brave. Those who rise are the ones who shape history.”
Bosch emphasized authenticity and self-worth in response to the final universal question about how she would empower young girls if crowned Miss Universe:
“I want them to believe in the power of their authenticity. Your dreams matter, your heart matters. Never let anyone make you doubt your worth. You are powerful, and your voice deserves to be heard.”
A pageant marked by early controversy
Bosch was a central figure in a dispute involving Miss Universe Thailand executive Nawat Itsaragrisil. A circulating video showed a tense exchange, prompting Miss Universe Mexico to call the incident “unacceptable” on social media. Nawat later apologized, and the Miss Universe Organization moved to restrict his involvement moving forward.
