Actress reflects on Olivia’s life with symbrachydactyly, celebrates her resilience, growth, and milestones as she enters adulthood.
Actress Nikki Valdez turned emotional as she celebrated a major milestone in her daughter Olivia’s life, sharing a heartfelt tribute as the latter officially turned 18.
On social media, Nikki looked back on the day Olivia was born on July 29, 2008, recalling the challenges and unforgettable moments that shaped her daughter’s inspiring journey.
The actress revealed that Olivia’s symbrachydactyly in her left hand was discovered during her anomaly scan while she was still pregnant. Despite the condition, Nikki said her daughter continuously amazed her with her resilience and determination from an early age.
She fondly remembered how Olivia learned to hold her feeding bottle using her left hand despite having no fingers to grasp it, counted from one to 100 by the age of three, and quickly developed into a child who loved making friends wherever she went.
Nikki also described Olivia as a born dancer and natural performer, saying her daughter had always been destined to stand out in the most beautiful ways.
Reflecting on her journey as a mother, Nikki called Olivia her “happy pill,” best friend, greatest achievement, and one of the biggest reasons she wakes up every day with purpose. She added that enduring 26 hours of labor was worth every second and that she would gladly go through it all over again just to have a daughter like Olivia.
As Olivia officially entered adulthood, Nikki reminded her that life would come with many challenges but expressed confidence that her kind heart, pure spirit, and strength would help her overcome them.
She ended her touching message by assuring Olivia that she would always have the unwavering love and support of her family.
“Welcome to adulthood where challenges are inevitable, but with your pure heart, kind soul, and your head held high, I know you will rise above every one of them. Mama, Dada, and your entire family will always be here for you and with you every step of the way. We love you beyond words. Happy birthday, our beautiful girl, Olivia!” Nikki wrote alongside the hashtag #OliviaAt18.
Olivia is Nikki’s daughter with her former husband, Christopher Lina. The two married in 2007 before separating in 2009.
In 2018, Nikki found love again and married businessman Luis Garcia in Hong Kong. She has previously described him as one of God’s greatest blessings to both her and Olivia, highlighting the close bond they have built as a family.
