Five groups of fresh faces, bold concepts, and promising acts reshape the P-pop landscape.
In every generation of P-pop, a new set of stars arrives hoping to capture hearts. But in a landscape growing more competitive by the year, talent alone is no longer enough. Every group needs something that makes them unforgettable—a signature, a story, a superpower.
Some groups wield the power of identity. Others thrive on youthful energy, cultural storytelling, or years of performance experience. Together, MEI MEI, DESTINI, XONARA, Baby Dolls, and VVINK are proving that the next chapter of P-pop will not be defined by one sound or one formula.
It will be defined by individuality.
MEI MEI: The power of being yourself

If MEI MEI were comic book heroes, their greatest ability would be turning individuality into strength.
Debuting under Groovy Garden Records, a label under PULP Group, the eight-member act entered the scene with a mission that feels refreshingly simple: celebrate every version of yourself.
Led by Jessie and composed of Alexa, Jhamayka, Ada, Aerise, Thea, Yuni, and Dina, each member embodies a unique persona. Instead of blending into one image, they embrace their differences, showing fans that confidence comes in many forms.
Their debut track, “Telebong,” draws inspiration from Filipino childhood games, adding another layer to their identity. While many rookie groups look outward for inspiration, MEI MEI looks inward—toward Filipino culture, memories, and self-expression. Their superpower isn’t perfection. It’s authenticity.
DESTINI: The power of youth

Some superheroes can fly. DESTINI’s power is making people remember what it feels like to be young.
Formed under StarHorizon TV Productions, the girl group behind TikTok’s now trending song “Shadow to Star” built its identity around the emotions that define adolescence—the thrill of a crush, the excitement of friendship, and the uncertainty of growing up.
Led by Ceana, DESTINI emerged from a nationwide talent search and quickly found an audience through their bright concepts and relatable music.
Their bubblegum-pop sound isn’t just about catchy melodies. It captures a chapter of life many people wish they could revisit. Every performance feels like flipping through pages of a teenage diary filled with dreams, butterflies, and endless possibilities.
In an industry often chasing maturity, DESTINI’s greatest strength is embracing youth without apology.
XONARA: The power of heritage

While others look toward the future, XONARA proves there is power in remembering where you came from.
The seven-member girl group under 1Z Entertainment, composed of Eurekah, Megumi, Namie, Ella, Dominique, Tin, and Lei, carries one of the most meaningful concepts among today’s rookie acts.
Their name draws inspiration from sonar, Melchora Aquino, and the Narra tree—symbols connected to courage, resilience, and Filipino identity.
Before audiences learned their personalities, they first encountered XONARA through performance. It was a fitting introduction for a group whose artistry revolves around storytelling.
Their debut single, “Tabi,” reflects themes of connection and belonging, while their message consistently points back to cultural pride. In a rapidly globalizing music industry, XONARA’s superpower lies in proving that local stories can be just as powerful as universal ones.
BABY DOLLS: The power of performance

Some groups learn how to command a stage after their debut. Baby Dolls arrived already knowing how.
Before becoming recording artists under StarPop, Arianne dela Cruz, Chole Florendo, Johaira Moris, Juby Sabino, Jelai Ahamil, Eriel Reyes, and Ina Ortega were already captivating audiences as performers on “It’s Showtime.”
Years spent dancing in front of cameras and live audiences gave them something many rookie groups spend years developing: stage presence.
That experience remains their secret weapon today. Whether singing or dancing, Baby Dolls move with the confidence of performers who understand how to connect with a crowd.
With their hit debut song “Ikembot Mo,” their journey from television dancers to recording artists is proof that versatility can be a superpower of its own.
VVINK: The power of second chances

Every hero has an origin story. VVINK’s is built on resilience.
Formed under FlipMusic Records, the group consists of leader Angelika, main vocalist Jean, main rapper Ayaka, main dancer Odri, and all-rounder Mariel.
Unlike many idol groups, the members first pursued their dreams individually before eventually coming together. Each arrived with separate experiences, setbacks, and aspirations. That history became the foundation of VVINK’s identity.
Their name symbolizes victory and new beginnings, while their debut single, “Tulala,” introduced audiences to a group unafraid to wear its heart on its sleeve. In previous interviews, the members described themselves as advocates of second chances—a message that resonates with anyone who has ever had to start over. Their superpower isn’t simply talent. It’s persistence.
As P-pop continues to evolve, these five groups remind fans that success comes in many forms. Some lead with authenticity. Others with youth, heritage, performance, or perseverance.
And perhaps that’s what makes today’s generation of P-pop girl groups exciting. They aren’t competing to be the same hero. They’re discovering their own superpowers—and inviting fans along for the journey.
