Currency moves between record lows and brief rebounds before closing the month at ₱61.36 against the US dollar.
The Philippine peso ended June 2026 at ₱61.36 against the US dollar, closing a month marked by sharp swings between record-low territory and brief recovery runs.
The currency opened June near its weakest levels, repeatedly testing record lows in the ₱61.70 to ₱61.75 range before staging a mid-month rebound that brought it back toward the ₱60 level. At its strongest, the peso briefly touched ₱60.32, recovering ground lost in earlier sessions.
However, gains proved uneven as late-June trading saw renewed pressure, pushing the peso back above ₱61 before it settled at month-end. Despite the volatility, the peso remained above its mid-May record lows.
Overall, June reflected a highly volatile trading pattern, with alternating recovery bursts and renewed weakness defining most sessions.
