The original cast returns to Circuit Makati this October before stepping down from their acclaimed roles forever.

Romnick Sarmenta, Elijah Canlas and Epy Quizon will have their final run as Eric, Lancelot and Marcus, respectively, this October when “About Us But Not About Us” returns to the stage.

The special engagement runs from October 2 to 25 at the Power Mac Spotlight Black Box Theater in Circuit Makati, marking the last time the three actors will play the roles they originated in the stage adaptation.

Sarmenta and Canlas first played Eric and Lancelot in Jun Robles Lana’s award-winning film, which swept the inaugural Summer Metro Manila Film Festival. Sarmenta won Best Actor at the festival and later at the Gawad Urian, while Canlas received the Special Jury Prize.

For the live adaptation, Lana expanded the story by bringing Marcus, a pivotal character who was only spoken about in the film, to the stage. Quizon originated the role.

“There is an important reason this will be the last time Romnick, Elijah and Epy will play their original roles in ‘About Us But Not About Us,’ and audiences will understand why in time,” writer and producer Lana said.

“But more than anything, I am grateful that they were the actors who breathed life into Eric, Lancelot and Marcus, and I am excited as new performers will interpret these characters this October.”

Andoy Ranay shares the role of Marcus, earning strong reviews for his performance during the show’s first run last February.

Kobie Brown, who recently starred opposite Hilda Koronel in the film “Sisa,” alternates as Lancelot, while director Tuxqs Rutaquio serves as the alternate Eric.

Rutaquio said working closely with the original cast gave him a different perspective on the production.

“As their director, I’ve watched Romnick, Elijah and Epy discover new dimensions in these characters every time they step onstage. And as someone who must now fill Eric’s shoes, I know firsthand how demanding this material is.”

“About Us But Not About Us” is produced by IdeaFirst Live, the theater production arm of The IdeaFirst Company.
