Epy reflects on regret, survival, and finally completing his AB Humanities degree in a deeply personal milestone.
For Epy Quizon, earning his college diploma marks the fulfillment of a promise he made to his parents—especially his father, Dolphy Quizon.
He recently graduated from De La Salle University, where he completed an AB Humanities degree—an achievement 30 years in the making.
In an Instagram post, he shared a photo of himself in his toga at La Salle Hall and penned an emotional letter reflecting on his journey. He revealed that he had once walked away from the university just a thesis short of graduating.
When need to survive became priority
He also shared that fear and life circumstances pulled him away at the time, as survival took priority. Despite this, he held on to the promise he made, carrying it with him through the years. He paid tribute to his father, expressing regret that he did not get to witness his graduation.
radar Entertainment got the chance to interview Epy during the “Love Is Never Gone” press conference/special screening held at Cinema 11 of Gateway 2.
Fulfillment of a promise
Epy remembered the frustration he saw on his Dad’s face when he learned he failed to finish his studies.
Epy even said that he does not need the diploma because he has already applied his course in his work as an actor, but the fulfillment of his promise serves as an inspiration for him to finish his degree.
“Actually I don’t need the diploma, I have knowledge of it so I don’t need the diploma, but I have to get a diploma because of the promise,” he pointed out.

Very active in his showbiz career, Epy is part of the upcoming Prime Video action/love story series titled “Love Is Never Gone.” He plays the role of Alonzo Crisanto, the father of Teo, who is played by Joshua Garcia. Epy only has good words for his Kapamilya coactor.
‘Yon ‘yong mga signs ng isang magaling na aktor,” he said of Joshua.
Epy was also asked if Joshua shows any tantrums during the taping of “Love Is Never Gone,” especially since he had to juggle it with other projects.
Joshua Garcia’s tantrums
“Ang tawag namin ‘Happy Birthday’ ‘pag maraming eksena for the day. ‘O happy birthday! Marami kang eksena.’ Si Josh every taping namin, happy birthday.”
