The Megastar opens up about 30 years of marriage struggles and why they stayed together.
Actress and Megastar Sharon Cuneta revealed that she and her husband, Senator Kiko Pangilinan, have had moments when they considered separating throughout their three decades of marriage.
Sharon candidly admitted that their relationship has gone through its share of challenges, including moments when she herself wanted to walk away. “Hindi ko mabilang,” she revealed during her appearance with “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” when asked how many times they had reached that point.
“Oo siyempre it’s been a journey. But he never let go. Even if I wanted to,” she explained.
Sharon also opened up about the personal struggles and emotional baggage she carried throughout the years, which made it difficult for her to fully feel secure in their relationship.
“And lagi ko naman nare-realize after na ‘Oo nga naman. Bakit naman?’ Siguro, I have a lot of baggage, so in a lot of ways I was scared. And over the years, and it took us 30 years, but he made me feel safe,” she shared.
Despite the challenges they have faced individually and as a couple, Sharon emphasized that she and Kiko remain firmly united, particularly when dealing with controversies surrounding their family.
“Hundred percent, we’re so united. Even our kids now with us, we are united and we love as one,” she said. “Almost we’re one for all, all for one. So especially me and Kiko, because we know each other so well. There’s a lot of respect between us. There’s a lot of faith we have with each other and in God.”
For Sharon, the couple’s deep understanding and trust in each other have also allowed them to easily recognize false reports and fake news involving their family.
“There’s so much trust that you know right away when something is made up, it’s fake news. And when it comes to both of us–oh my gosh–you don’t want to come and cross us,” she warned.
