Egg Tarts MNL’s journey from a humble setup to a mall kiosk shows what growth can look like.
While running a small business comes with its share of challenges, stories of growth offer a welcome reminder that some entrepreneurs are finding ways to move forward.
Entrepreneur @darrenabygail recently shared a pair of photos on Threads showing how far Egg Tarts MNL has come since 2021, when it operated from a humble setup at Molito in Alabang.
Back then, the setup consisted of a tablecloth, custom boxes she took a chance on, and a small food warmer she bought in Binondo. Today, the business has a kiosk at TriNoma, one of the stores it opened this year.
The post drew congratulations from fellow entrepreneurs and customers, some of whom shared their love for the brand’s egg tarts. One customer called the coffee-flavored tart a favorite she shares with her sister, while another mentioned buying the products at Festival Mall as pasalubong.
The entrepreneur credited hard work and faith for the journey, but the transformation also offers a glimpse of what growing a small food business can look like, from a modest starting point to a presence in major shopping malls.
The photos capture the progress. The story behind them, including the risks, costs, and decisions involved in expanding, could reveal even more about what it takes to build a business from the ground up.
