Small Laude sets the record straight, shuts down claims linking husband Philip to alleged flood control project irregularities.
Social media personality and businesswoman Small Laude has denied the involvement of her husband, Philip Laude, to the ongoing controversy surrounding alleged irregularities in flood control projects.
During her recent guest appearance on “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” Small pointed out that, “the person involved is a friend of Philip’s, [but it was in] 2018 or 2019 when they decided to [put up] a business. But then, the friend decided to run for politics, so they agreed not to continue with the business, and they closed that company, so wala talagang negosyo na nangyari,” she said.
“Ewan ko nga, Tito Boy, bakit iniintriga iyang flood control, sobrang not,” she added.
The issue stemmed from reports linking Philip to a controversial joint bank account involving ACT-CIS Party-list Rep. Edvic Yap, who has been associated with the ongoing flood control scandal.
In a previous statement, Philip’s legal counsel, Divina Law, denied any wrongdoing and clarified that no corporation or business venture was ever formed between Laude and Yap. The firm explained that Yap had merely invited Philip to explore a possible investment before entering public office, but no business transaction materialized.
The law firm further stressed that attempts to connect Philip to alleged irregularities involving public officials are “factually baseless and misleading,” adding that a mere invitation to invest does not constitute illegality or impropriety.
Despite the controversy, Small said she chooses not to dwell on rumors and speculation. “I just stay calm and focused. And sometimes, I don’t pay attention to it, parang it doesn’t deserve any reaction or response–iyong mga rumors,” she said.
For Small, staying focused and maintaining her peace of mind remains the best response to issues that surface online.
