Sunlight Air expands domestic network with new Clark-Tablas route

Direct flights could benefit tourism businesses and marble artisans.

Sunlight Air is expanding its domestic network with a new Clark-Tablas route, a move that could bring more visitors, investment, and business activity to one of Romblon’s least connected tourism markets.

The boutique airline will begin twice-weekly flights on August 11, with services every Tuesday and Saturday. Introductory one-way base fares start at ₱1,899.

The new route gives travelers direct access to Tablas, the largest island in Romblon, opening more opportunities for hotels, restaurants, transport providers, tour operators, and the province’s marble industry to reach a wider market. Easier air access may also encourage more private investment as visitor arrivals increase over time.

Sunlight Air said its ATR 72-500 and ATR 72-600 aircraft are suited for Tablas’ smaller runway, similar to the setup at Busuanga, Coron, where the airline launched its first commercial route.

The expansion also adds another domestic destination from Clark, giving travelers from Central Luzon an alternative to flying through Manila. As airlines continue building links to smaller destinations, improved connectivity can spread tourism spending beyond the country’s busiest beach hubs and support local economies that have traditionally attracted fewer visitors.
