From real-time GPS navigation to price comparisons across 600+ menu items, this Pinoy-made app makes finding your next brew smarter.
For coffee lovers who treat every cup like a mission, a new homegrown tool might just become their daily essential. Filipino developer Mark Aldrin Lastica has launched HanapKape, a web-based coffee discovery app designed to make finding your next brew faster, easier, and a little more fun.
Think of it as your coffee compass. HanapKape lets users locate nearby cafés using GPS, complete with distance, estimated travel time, and even turn-by-turn navigation—perfect for those “kape now, think later” moments. It also answers one of the most important questions for caffeine seekers: bukas pa ba? With its “Open Now” filter, users can quickly spot which shops are still serving.

Search for the perfect cup, simplified
But where the app really shines is in helping users decide what to order. HanapKape allows comparisons across more than 660 menu items from popular chains like Starbucks, Dunkin’, Tim Hortons, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, and Bo’s Coffee—letting users weigh their options based on price, drink type, or even best-sellers per store.
For the indecisive (or the adventurous), filters for hot, iced, and even non-coffee drinks make browsing less overwhelming. There’s also a personal touch: users can log their own coffee entries, save favorites, and essentially build their own digital “kape diary.”
Lastica notes that the app is still a work in progress, with prices and shop data continuously being updated. A native mobile version is already in development, with hopes of building a more comprehensive, community-driven database of coffee spots across the country.
In a country where coffee runs are practically a lifestyle, HanapKape taps into something deeply familiar: the joy—and sometimes struggle—of finding the perfect cup. Whether you’re chasing a budget-friendly iced latte or hunting down your next go-to café, this app proves that in the Philippines, the search for good coffee just got a lot smarter.
Filipino developer Mark Aldrin Lastica’s new web-app, HanapKape, acts as a “coffee compass,” allowing users to locate nearby cafés, check opening hours, and compare prices across 660+ menu items in real-time.
