If Cinderella lived in 2026, she might be wearing transparent Saint Laurent heels worth more than a brand-new motorcycle.
French luxury fashion house Saint Laurent has turned heads with its growing collection of transparent footwear, featuring pumps, slingbacks, mules, and wedge heels crafted from clear TPU, PVC, and fine mesh materials. While see-through shoes are not entirely new to fashion, Saint Laurent’s latest designs elevate the trend into the luxury category—with some pairs retailing for well over US$1,500, or around ₱85,000 to ₱110,000 depending on the style and market.
Among the most talked-about pieces are the brand’s transparent Opyum pumps, which combine crystal-clear uppers with Saint Laurent’s signature sculptural heel. Other styles feature patent leather trims, rhinestone YSL logos, and sleek transparent panels that create the illusion of walking barefoot.
The collection also includes crystal-embellished mules and transparent slingback pumps, blending the barely-there aesthetic with the house’s signature glamour. Meanwhile, Saint Laurent’s wedge pumps reinterpret the trend through architectural clear heels and elongated pointed toes.
Fashion observers say the appeal lies in the shoes’ ability to visually lengthen the legs while complementing almost any outfit. The transparent material also creates a futuristic look that has become increasingly popular on runways and red carpets.

However, the novelty comes at a premium price. Depending on the design and embellishments, Saint Laurent’s transparent footwear can cost anywhere from around ₱50,000 to more than ₱100,000 a pair—making them among the most expensive examples of the see-through shoe trend currently on the market.
The luxury label’s embrace of transparency reflects a broader fashion movement toward unconventional materials and optical illusions. What was once associated with novelty footwear has now become a high-fashion statement embraced by celebrities, influencers, and luxury shoppers worldwide.
For fashion enthusiasts, the shoes offer a striking conversation piece. For everyone else, they may simply be the world’s most expensive way to show off a pedicure.
