Zanjoe, Rochelle, Zion star Puregold CinePanalo finalist ‘Apol of my Ai’

With a unique love story at its core, “Apol of My Ai” brings together a powerhouse cast for the upcoming film festival.

Multi-awarded filmmaker Thop Nazareno has revealed the impressive lineup of actors set to star in his Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival 2026 entry, “Apol of My Ai.”

Taking to social media, Nazareno introduced the film’s lead cast, which includes Zanjoe Marudo, Rochelle Pangilinan, and Zion Cruz.

Speaking about the project following the announcement of its selection for the festival, the director shared a glimpse of the story.

“Tungkol siya sa batang na-in love siya sa teacher niya tapos in the end, karibal pala niya ‘yung tatay niya,” he said, describing it as a charming and lighthearted tale.

“Apol of My Ai” is one of the seven feature-length projects chosen as official finalists for the 2026 edition of the Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival.

As part of the program, each finalist received a ₱5 million production grant to bring their vision to the big screen while competing for the festival’s top prizes.

The selected feature films will be showcased alongside 20 short films created by promising student filmmakers from across the country.

The Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival 2026 is scheduled to take place from September 23 to October 4, 2026.
