From memorizing lines to managing mood swings, Charlie Fleming shares how lack of sleep affects her daily life and why better habits matter.
For TV personality and influencer Charlie Fleming, sleep isn’t a luxury but a lifeline, especially when the job demands focus, energy, and a camera-ready presence at all times.
“It’s super hard for me to remember lines. Sometimes, my brain gets sleepy, and it doesn’t function very well. Especially when I get moody, it’s like my brain is everywhere. So memorizing lines is twice as hard,” she shared with showbiz scribes at a recent event.
The “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition Season 1” alumna didn’t sugarcoat the culprit behind her restless nights: her own habits.
“One big factor also is the habits before you sleep, iyong unwinding. Sometimes, we have our phones with us even at night. Syempre as a Gen Z and bagets, palagi rin ako naka-scroll but [I realized], dapat iwasan ang pag-cell phone bago matulog,” she added.
It’s a struggle many can relate to: doomscrolling your way into a foggy brain the next day. And in a world that rarely hits pause, “beauty rest” has evolved into something far more essential: a non-negotiable for both well-being and performance.
That reality took center stage at an event by Uratex, which amplified its call for better sleep through its “8-Hour Movement: A Wake-Up Call for Better Sleep” campaign, held at Abenson Waltermart Makati in celebration of World Sleep Day.
Protecting your health through quality sleep
Fleming, one of the campaign’s voices, joined interactive discussions that spotlighted a modern-day dilemma: how to stay well-rested while juggling demanding schedules and a life that’s always online.
Her candid reflections struck a chord, especially with younger attendees who know all too well how a quick scroll can turn into a sleepless night.
The event highlighted a growing reality: as digital lifestyles take over, healthy sleep routines are often the first to suffer. Through initiatives like the “8-Hour Movement,” Uratex is pushing back, reminding Filipinos that quality rest isn’t a luxury you squeeze in, but a necessity you protect.
By opening up about her own struggles, Fleming grounded the conversation in something real and relatable. In a generation defined by constant connectivity, choosing to rest has become an act of discipline and self-care. “Beauty rest,” after all, isn’t just about looking good. It’s about showing up clear-headed, recharged, and ready to function at your best.
One big factor also is the habits before you sleep, the unwinding. Sometimes, we have our phones with us even at night. As a Gen Z, palagi rin ako naka-scroll but [I realized], dapat iwasan ang pag-cell phone bago matulog.
