Forester explains the dangers of the ornamental plant Adelfa.

Not everything pink is safe. 🌸

Licensed forester Ethan Hernandez is raising an important alert about the Adelfa (Nerium oleander). While this ornamental plant is a staple in many Philippine gardens for its vibrant blooms, it hides a dangerous secret: every part of it is highly toxic.

As Forester Hernandez shares, the Adelfa contains cardiac glycosides, natural toxins that directly affect the heart. Ingesting even a small amount can lead to “”Oleander Poisoning,”” causing severe vomiting, stomach pain, irregular heartbeats, and in extreme cases, sudden death.

Safety Tip: If you have these in your backyard, keep them far away from children and pets. Admire the beauty from a distance, but always handle it with extreme caution! 🚫🐾

Do you have this plant in your garden or neighborhood, and were you aware of its hidden dangers?

Despite its stunning pink flowers, the entire plant contains lethal cardiac glycosides that can cause severe poisoning or heart failure if ingested.
