Metro Manila authorities target illegal weaponry and narcotics in a predawn Diliman raid as part of the PNP’s ongoing Oplan Paglalansag Omega initiative.

Filipino rapper Hev Abi was arrested alongside six others in a police operation in Quezon City, authorities confirmed.

In a statement, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) said the arrest was carried out in the early hours of April 14 during the implementation of a search warrant in Barangay Laging Handa, Diliman. The operation was part of the Philippine National Police’s intensified campaign against loose firearms under Oplan Paglalansag Omega.

CIDG operatives said seven individuals were apprehended during the raid, including a suspect identified as “Abi,” along with six others named “Ryan, Mick, Roger, Leon, John,” and “Shee.” All are of legal age.

Authorities reported the confiscation of a 9mm pistol, a magazine, and live ammunition. Also recovered from the group were 11 cartridges containing suspected liquid marijuana, four sealed plastic packets with powder believed to be cocaine, and various drug paraphernalia.

The operation was conducted by the CIDG Regional Field Unit–National Capital Region and was reported to CIDG Director PMGen Robert A.A. Morico II.

The agency commended its regional unit for the successful enforcement of Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and reiterated its commitment to cracking down on illegal firearms and drug-related offenses.

As of writing, no statement has been released by Hev Abi or his camp regarding the incident.
