Former beauty queen turned actress Maria Isabel Lopez is on the road to recovery after her daughter Mara Lopez shared on social media that her mother was lying in a hospital bed.

“She’s alive and that’s all that matters,” Mara captioned her post. “Mahal kita @beautyqueenmil, pagaling ka,” she added.

Based on her Instagram post, Maria Isabel suffered injuries from a car crash, writing, “Survived a car crash. Thank you, Lord.”

Currently, the former actress is enjoying family time in the United States, where she has been based for years after getting married in 2019.

Maria Isabel’s recent projects include the upcoming TV series “SellBlock” (post-production, playing Alisha) and the 2024 short film “Ang Huling Sayaw” (The Late Checkout). She also starred in the film Diamonds in the Sand and the short film “Awit Natin” (Our Song), according to her IMDb and social media updates from 2024 to 2025.
