The dancer-content creator addresses backlash from BTS fans, denying claims of using connections and defending her longtime support.

Dancer, performer, and content creator AC Bonifacio has taken to social media to air her side after facing criticism from some BTS Army fans, who accused her of using connections and questioned her authenticity as a supporter of the global K-pop group.

On X, AC did not hold back as she addressed the wave of negativity directed at her, expressing frustration over what she described as false narratives and personal attacks.

“There are so many stories being made up here, and I’ve never been one to stay quiet when I know it isn’t true. People are starting to call me disrespectful names,” she wrote.

AC clarified that her presence at a recent event tied to BTS was purely professional, emphasizing that she was hired to work and had no prior knowledge of the event’s nature.

“I understand the frustration because of how loyal you guys are as ARMY. First off, I was hired for the event to work. I did not use any ‘connections’ to get a pass. I didn’t even know who the event was for until the night before,” she explained.

She also opened up about her responsibilities beyond the spotlight, reminding critics that her career choices are grounded in real-life obligations.

“This is part of what I do, and as a breadwinner. I have responsibilities to take care of. I hope people understand that. But if anyone’s willing to pay my bills, I’d gladly accept,” she shared candidly.

A longtime fan, AC revealed that her connection to BTS dates back to 2017, underscoring that her support for the group has always been genuine.

“Showing up for something that celebrates BTS and the community means a lot to me. Everyone supports in their own way, this is one of mine. Respect goes both ways,” she added.

She also addressed circulating claims that her fandom was only recent or tied to attention from BTS members.

“I also hope we can move past the ‘finollow lang kasi ni J-Hope at Jungkook’ and ‘ngayon lang naging fan’ narrative, because those simply aren’t true. The tagging on TikTok [is] becoming an issue for no reason,” she said.

AC went on to explain how tagging works on the platform, noting that BTS members have specific account settings that limit who can tag them.

“The boys specifically have settings set on their accounts that you cannot tag them unless they follow you. I thought this was common knowledge,” she clarified.

She further detailed the timeline of interactions, explaining that only Jungkook was following her during her earlier TikTok post, while J-Hope followed later hence the tagging differences. She also pointed out that she could not tag V because he does not follow her.

“Walang ‘bias niya kasi,’ ‘papansin siya,’ ‘ARMY pero isa lang kilala.’ I may not have been there from the very beginning, but I made the effort to go back, learn their story, and understand everything that made BTS who they are today,” AC stressed.

Highlighting the essence of fandom, she called for unity rather than division within the community.

“Whether you’re a fan from 2014 or even 2026, we should all be celebrating that ARMY is growing,” she said.

AC also shared the unseen efforts she has poured into supporting the group over the years, from streaming late into the night to learning choreography and producing BTS-inspired content.

“You weren’t there for the late nights I spent streaming, learning choreography, and even putting my own resources into creating BTS covers when I had nothing,” she quipped. “It’s frustrating that I have to do this just to support the first group that introduced me into K-pop.”

Despite the backlash, AC made it clear that she has no intention of proving herself to anyone, choosing instead to continue supporting BTS in her own way.

“I don’t feel the need to prove myself as a fan. That’s why you don’t see everything. I’ll just keep supporting OT7 the way I always have. Let’s not put each other down when we should be celebrating BTS and their comeback together,” she concluded.

Bonifacio recently received follows and compliments from some BTS members, including Jungkook and J-Hope further fueling online conversations but also highlighting her connection to the group she continues to support.
