The driver, who eventually passed away, had a cardiac arrest.

A doctor and fitness enthusiast, Fit Francis, shares his collision encounter with a Green GSM taxi driver at Aurora Boulevard in Cubao, Quezon City. He also shares about how he assessed the driver and attempted to save him.

While Francis was near the stoplight, he noticed that someone bumped into the back of his car. Afterwards, he checked on the vehicle and assessed the situation.

“Pagbaba ko, nakita ko yung sasakyan. Ano ‘to yung green taxi, yung EV.

He saw the driver’s body unconsciously lying at the passenger seat, saying that the driver had a myocardial infarction (or heart attack) and acute coronary syndrome, a condition caused by sudden, reduced blood flow to the heart.

After seeking help from the ambulance and the police, he made chest compressions to the driver—making him temporarily conscious on their way to the hospital. The driver requested to call his children to ask about his condition; however, he eventually passed away.

Francis adds that the accident serves as a lesson for all medical doctors.
