Pan-Asian micro film festival opens entries with ₱10M prizes, public voting, and AI-friendly categories for emerging storytellers.

Independent filmmakers, student storytellers, NGO workers, and even AI creators, this is your cue.

The Inspiring Asia Micro Film Festival 2026 has officially opened submissions, offering one of the biggest platforms for pan-Asian changemakers.

More than just a film festival, Inspiring Asia spans eight countries: Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Mongolia, Hong Kong, China, and the Philippines, this year’s host. Its goal: to connect powerful storytelling with real-world impact.

Unlike traditional festivals, it puts decision-making in the hands of the public through community voting, giving audiences a direct role in spotlighting meaningful stories and solutions.

This year’s theme centers on community empowerment, guided by “Belonging, Resilience, and Thriving.”

Submissions are open to all genres, with no restrictions on production methods, including AI-generated films. Entries must run 3 to 6 minutes and follow standard formats (MP4, MOV, AVI), in 16:9 aspect ratio, from 720p up to 4K resolution.

Films may be in any language, but non-English entries must include English subtitles for accessibility.

Prizes include:

  • Best Project Award: US$100,000 (for nonprofits or social enterprises)
  • Best Micro Film Award: US$50,000 (for creative excellence and impact)
  • Best AI Film Award: US$10,000 (for AI-driven storytelling)

(Estimate based on ~₱61 = US$1; actual rates may vary slightly.)

Last year’s Best Project winners were Mongolia’s “Light Up” and Thailand’s “When the Bench Hears.” Singapore’s Christine Seow won Best Micro Film for “For Paul, My Baby,” while Yinqian Li took Best AI Film for “Ruins.”

Got a story? Stop overthinking and start filming. Submissions are open until July 6.
