The content creator says she’s “learning” after netizens call out insensitive Senate-related post.
Social media personality and content creator Sachzna Laparan has publicly apologized after facing backlash over her controversial “May all-out sale” post, which many found insensitive amid the country’s current political climate.
The issue erupted after Sachzna was accused of using the recent Senate probe to promote her cellphone giveaway, prompting criticism online and calls for accountability.
Addressing the controversy, Sachzna took to Facebook with a lengthy statement to acknowledge her mistake and apologize to those she may have offended.
“Gusto ko lang i-address yung recent post at caption ko,” she began.
“I’ve been reading all your comments and messages, at naiintindihan ko kung bakit maraming nagalit, na-offend, at nadisappoint. Looking back now, narealize ko na sobrang wrong timing ng post ko at naging insensitive talaga siya, lalo na sa current situation. I sincerely apologize for that,” she shared.
According to Sachzna, she had become too focused on work, personal commitments, and her ongoing giveaway, which caused her to overlook how her post could be perceived during such a sensitive time.
“Sa totoo lang, naging sobrang focused ako sa work, commitments, at giveaway na ginagawa ko that time, kaya hindi ko agad naisip how my post could affect or come across to other people. But I understand now na hindi iyon excuse. Dapat naging mas maingat, mindful, at sensitive ako bago mag-post. Totoo talaga yung ‘think before you click,’ and this situation humbled me a lot,” she explained.
The content creator also addressed accusations that she had become detached from public concerns because of her success.
“Gusto ko rin i-address yung mga nagsasabing, ‘Mayaman ka na kasi, kaya wala ka nang pakialam.’ Hindi po. Those who have been following me for a long time know na kahit noon pa man, kung anong meron ako, tumutulong at nagbibigay talaga ako sa abot ng makakaya ko. The post was simply poorly timed and insensitive, at inaako ko yung pagkakamali ko doon.”
Sachzna went on to thank those who constructively called out her mistake, saying their feedback served as an important reminder to be more responsible and mindful of what she shares online.
“Thank you rin sa mga taong maayos na nagpahayag ng feelings nila at pinarealize sa akin yung mali ko. I’m listening, learning, and taking this as a reminder to be more responsible and aware sa mga sine-share ko online.”
She ended her statement with a heartfelt message calling for unity and compassion, emphasizing that despite differences, Filipinos should prioritize the welfare of the country and its people.
“Sa government natin at sa kapwa nating Pilipino, nakakalungkot ang mga nangyayari ngayon. Pero sana, sa panahon na ganito, wag muna tayo pumili ng kulay at pairalin ang pansariling interest. Unahin muna natin ang bansa natin at ang kapakanan ng mga Pilipino.
“Marami nang Pilipino ang nagsa-suffer ngayon. At the end of the day, iisa lang naman ang ipinaglalaban nating lahat: ang Pilipinas.”
According to Sachzna Laparan, she had become too focused on work, personal commitments, and her ongoing giveaway, which caused her to overlook how her post could be perceived during such a sensitive time.
