Miguel Escueta spotlights flood control woes, oil crisis, Senate tensions in “Stand in the Fire.”
At a time when frustrations over national issues continue to mount, pop-rock singer-songwriter Miguel Escueta is channeling those sentiments into music with his latest single, “Stand in the Fire.”
The track puts a spotlight on the growing discontent felt by many Filipinos—from concerns on flood control and the oil crisis to ongoing tensions in the Senate—transforming them into a call for unity and action.
“We wanted to write a song that’s somewhat of an anthem about a group standing together for something that they collectively believe in… it evolved into standing together against corruption and standing together as a nation,” Miguel shared.
For Miguel, the song reflects a shared frustration many are experiencing today.
“Iyong flood control, tapos ‘yong oil crisis, tapos ‘yong nangyayari sa Senado ngayon… frustrating. We just wanna get the message out there,” he added.
With its message of standing together and speaking up, the track urges listeners to stay aware, engaged, and united, especially in challenging times.
“Stand in the Fire” is now streaming on major platforms.
