Luxury watch vlogger meets ‘Ultimate Nerd.’

In one corner is Pareng Hayb, the go-to guy for local luxury watch vlogging, who has spent years making the complex world of Rolexes and APs easy for regular Pinoys to understand.

In the other corner is Dino Cornel, the “Ultimate Nerd”—a US-based tech creator and major collector of high-end gadgets, toys, and rare cards.

When Dino flew back to the Philippines, he skipped the banks, walked straight into Hayb’s shop, Gentry, and started a wild, cash-free trading battle.

Trading the “undefeatable” watch for Rolex

Dino started the deal by bringing out a watch he bought in Japan for around ₱315K. He calls it his “undefeatable watch” because he wore it during a Counter-Strike 1v1 challenge at the Super Manila Comic Con. He promised a free console to anyone who could beat him, but over two days, nobody did.

Dino wanted to trade it for a pre-owned Rolex Yacht-Master Platinum worth ₱549K. Instead of paying cash for the remaining balance, he offered more gadgets to cover the ₱234K price gap.

Dino started stacking premium gadgets on the table: a high-end Razer Blade 16 gaming laptop (RTX 4070), a handheld Lenovo Legion Go console, and futuristic ASUS AirVision M1 glasses that project a 100-inch screen so you can play games while lying down.

Pulling out the secret cards

Even with the tech, he was still about ₱100K short. So, Dino pulled out his secret weapon: rare trading cards. Hayb called in Gentry’s in-house card expert to check the stash. They valued a PSA 9-graded Charizard at ₱8,000 and added premium One Piece cards (like a ₱4,000 Nami) to keep chipping away at the balance.

To officially lock in the “done deal,” Dino threw in a rare Corsair Limited Edition DOOM headset. He also gifted the Gentry crew vintage Yu-Gi-Oh cards from his personal collection, handing Hayb a Winged Dragon of Ra and giving the team a Blue-Eyes White Dragon.

As the Rolex finally changed hands, the two creators wrapped up the trade by agreeing on the ultimate unwritten rule for married collectors:

“Pag nagtanong asawa ko, wala akong ginagawa. What happens in Gentry, stays in Gentry!”
