“It’s Showtime” revives its viral LGBTQIA+ segment, spotlighting wit, humor, and representation just in time for Pride celebrations.

After years of fan demand, “Miss Q and A” is officially returning for a brand-new season—and its timing couldn’t be more fitting.

The announcement comes as the Philippines celebrates Pride Month, bringing back a competition that has long been a platform for LGBTQIA+ talent, wit, and self-expression. Host Vice Ganda shared the exciting news, saying, “It’s PRIDE MONTH! Perfect for ‘Miss Q and A.’ Tara na mga veyklaccchhh!!!”

First launched in 2017, “Miss Q and A” quickly became one of the most iconic segments in “It’s Showtime.” Inspired by the question-and-answer portion of beauty pageants, the competition put queer contestants, many of them gay men and trans women, at center stage, challenging them to showcase not just beauty, but intelligence, humor, confidence, and quick thinking.

At a time when LGBTQIA+ representation on mainstream television was often limited to supporting or comedic roles, “Miss Q and A” shifted the spotlight. Contestants became stars in their own right, with their witty answers regularly going viral and becoming part of online meme culture and everyday conversations.

The segment also served as a launchpad for many queens who later built careers in television, hosting, live events, and entertainment, proving that the competition was more than just a noontime segment—it became a cultural phenomenon.

Now, just in time for Pride Month, a new batch of contestants is ready to serve charisma, confidence, comedy, and plenty of awra as one of “It’s Showtime’s” most beloved competitions makes its long-awaited return.
