Renowned designer expands into pageant leadership, opens doors to trans candidates and crowns three inaugural winners.
Jojo Bragais is taking his passion for pageantry to greater heights with the official unveiling of Reina Filipinas, a new national beauty competition launched on Wednesday evening in Pasay City.
Widely known globally for crafting shoes worn by pageant titleholders and candidates in major international competitions, Bragais now serves as president of the newly established organization, bringing his extensive industry experience to its leadership.
For its inaugural edition, Reina Filipinas will crown three winners, including the holders of Reina Filipinas Grand International and Reina Filipinas All Stars, opening new opportunities for aspiring queens across the country.
Emphasizing its inclusive direction, Bragais confirmed that trans women will also be allowed to compete, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to broader representation in pageantry.
Joining the leadership team is Emma Tiglao, who has been appointed national director and will oversee the pageant’s operations and overall development. The launch event also gathered key figures from the local and international pageant scene, led by Miss Grand International president NawatItsaragrisil.
Under the Reina Filipinas Grand system, three crowns will be awarded, with two titleholders expected to emerge from the Reina Filipinas Grand All Stars division.
