A 2017 video of the award-winning actress has resurfaced on X, leaving netizens convinced she unknowingly did one of 2026’s biggest TikTok acting trends nearly a decade before it exploded online.
In the clip, Jodi is challenged to deliver her iconic “Pangako Sa ’Yo” line—“Matitikman ninyo ang batas ng isang api!”—within 25 seconds while instantly switching between different emotions. One second she’s happy, the next she’s furious, then scared, kilig, heartbroken, and even acting as if she has a stomach ache—all without breaking character.
The challenge mirrors the now-viral TikTok format where creators rapidly shift from one emotion to another while reciting the same line, testing both their acting skills and facial expressions.
The unforgettable dialogue was originally delivered by Jodi as Amor Powers in ABS-CBN’s 2015 remake of Pangako Sa ’Yo, becoming one of Philippine television’s most recognizable dramatic lines.
The resurfaced clip had fans declaring, “Si Jodi talaga ang blueprint!” while others joked that TikTok trends simply took nine years to catch up with the actress.
