The new hotel brings conference facilities, a helipad, and a full suite of amenities to Davao City, marking a new chapter for Mindanao’s tourism and business scene.
Hotel 101 Davao is opening its doors on July 30, and it’s bringing something Mindanao has never seen before. At 519 rooms and 5,384 square meters, it will be the largest hotel by room capacity in the entire region.
Situated beside SM City Davao, the property comes fully loaded with an all-day dining restaurant, a fitness gym, a swimming pool, conference rooms, and a helipad. The conference facilities are well-timed, as Davao has been steadily drawing more business travelers in recent years, with the city emerging as a key destination for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions.
For a region that has long played second fiddle to Manila in tourism infrastructure, a hotel of this scale signals that Mindanao is ready to compete on a bigger stage. Business leaders increasingly flocking to Mindanao cities make a property of this size not just timely, but necessary.
The Davao opening is also part of Hotel 101’s broader international push, with branches already open in Madrid, Spain, and another on the way in Niseko, Japan.
