Qualified patients may access chemotherapy with no out-of-pocket costs under PhilHealth and government assistance programs.
A new chemotherapy center in Santa Maria, Bulacan, operated by We Hope Medical Group, is now offering free treatment for qualified residents, expanding access to cancer care in a province where patients often need to travel to Metro Manila for specialized services.
The Santa Maria Chemotherapy Center said eligible patients may avail of free chemotherapy sessions, with costs covered through PhilHealth, the Cancer Assistance Fund, and other government assistance programs. Operated by We Hope Medical Group, patients are required to present a valid ID and their PhilHealth Member Data Record to qualify.
Eliminating the ₱120,000 barrier
Limited oncology facilities in Bulacan have long meant longer travel times, higher expenses, and delays in treatment for many patients seeking care. Chemotherapy alone can cost as much as ₱120,000 per cycle, with total treatment potentially reaching ₱5 million or more, making sustained care difficult for many families.
The center also provides oncology consultations, cancer screening, patient education, and wellness programs alongside chemotherapy services.
We Hope Medical Group said the facility is part of its expanding network of healthcare centers nationwide, with around 30 currently operational and a target of 100 centers by year-end. The Santa Maria center is located at the Megamart Building along Santa Maria Bypass Road.
