Artists, groups urged to apply as the agency rolls out free orientations across Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao ahead of the August deadline.

Got a dedicated idea for a local arts or culture project? The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) is officially accepting proposals for its 2027 Competitive Grants Program to help fund initiatives that promote and preserve Philippine heritage.

For local artists, researchers, and cultural groups figuring out the paperwork, the NCCA is hitting the road this month to host free orientation sessions. Luzon applicants can catch the Baguio City leg on July 21, while Metro Manila residents can tune in to an online session on the exact same day. The roadshow then heads to Bacolod City for the Visayas crowd on July 27, and wraps up in Davao City for Mindanao applicants on July 28.

Interested applicants can check the official NCCA Facebook page for the exact venues and to scan the pre-registration QR codes.

Prospects are also advised to keep in mind a few ground rules before pitching a project. They will need to secure an official NCCA accreditation first, and they must be completely cleared of any unliquidated grants or derogatory records with the government.

Ensure you have all your documents ready by the end of next month. Application is until 11:59 PM on August 31, for complete proposal submissions via email or courier.
