The Manila production of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” runs until July 26.

“It’s Showtime” hosts Vhong Navarro and Jhong Hilario could not hide their pride after watching co-host Karylle take the stage as Mrs. Bucket in the Manila run of the musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

After the July 9 evening show at The Theatre at Solaire, Navarro expressed his support, saying he felt a deep sense of pride watching her represent their noontime show.

In an interview with radar Entertainment, he shared how impressed he was with how Karylle kept pace with the international cast, noting, “Mga foreigners ang kasama mo, tapos sasabayan niya.” He added that the musical was so enjoyable, he would watch it every day if he could.

Hilario echoed the support, speaking as a “kumpadre” being that Karylle is a godparent of his daughter, Sarina. He highlighted that theater has always been Karylle’s true passion.

He commended her performance, saying she “portrayed well,” and expressed pride that she is the only Filipino cast member in the production. Speaking on behalf of the entire “It’s Showtime” family, he added, “We are so proud of you and hope to see you on the international stage.”
