Mariel Padilla has unfollowed Anne Curtis and Angel Locsin on Instagram, a move that came shortly after Angel publicly called out Mariel’s husband, Senator Robin Padilla.

The unfollowing quickly caught the attention of netizens, who linked it to Angel’s viral statement criticizing Robin’s recent political positions.

Meanwhile, Anne welcomed Angel back to social media, commenting, “Welcome back mars, ay Darna pala.”

Angel is often referred to as “Darna” or “Narda” due to her iconic portrayal of the superhero in the 2005 TV series Darna. In the story, Narda is the humble young woman who transforms into the powerful Darna, a role that became deeply associated with Angel and cemented her as one of the character’s most memorable portrayals.

In her lengthy post recently, Angel reflected on her friendship with the actor-turned-senator before questioning why he remained silent when she was being red-tagged despite knowing the allegations were false. 

She also criticized his stance on issues involving Apollo Quiboloy and China, ending her message with a direct appeal: “Tama na, Kuya. Gising na. Hindi pa huli ang lahat.”

The post received support from Angel’s husband, Neil Arce, who left a playful nod to her iconic role: “Lika na, Narda, hanapin natin iyung bato,” he wrote, referencing Darna’s transformation.

Soon after, fans noticed that Mariel was no longer following both Anne and Angel on Instagram, prompting speculation that the move was tied to the controversy surrounding Robin. Neither Mariel nor the two actresses has publicly addressed the unfollowing as of writing.
