Lindsay Custodio says arrest warrant issued vs estranged husband; plans annulment next

Singer-actress details trauma, legal battle, and healing journey after filing VAWC case against Frederick Cale.

Singer-actress Lindsay Custodio has disclosed that an arrest warrant has been issued against her estranged husband, Frederick Cale, following the violence against women and children (VAWC) complaint she filed in June 2025.

In an exclusive interview with radar Entertainment, Custodio opened up about how she has been coping with the trauma she experienced during her May 13, 2022 wedding to Cale.

The former “Ang TV” star attended the surprise 80th birthday celebration of veteran director-producer Ben “M7” Yalung, held on July 12 at The Fifth at Rockwell in Makati.

Custodio confirmed that filing for annulment is her next step, although her legal team is currently focused on addressing a cyberlibel case filed against her by Cale. She has been attending court hearings in Cebu related to the case.

Reflecting on the trauma she endured, Custodio said, “Ang hirap po. Hindi madali. Until now, I’m still healing and trying to move forward. I just pray and surrender everything to the Lord. It’s my faith that helped me a lot.”

She shared that she continues to consult her doctor occasionally as part of her healing process.

Custodio also acknowledged the impact of the situation on her family, particularly her children. “It’s very difficult because hindi lang ako ‘yong nagdala ng problema. Even my family and my children were affected so much. Hindi po talaga madali,” she said.

Custodio noted that the family has grown closer through the ordeal. “Of course, we pray together. And we became stronger as a family. Mas naging close kami.”

Despite the challenges, Custodio expressed gratitude, saying that “things could have been worse.” As of writing, Cale has yet to be apprehended.

Offering advice to women facing similar situations, she said, “Kaya natin iyan. Basta we are standing for the truth and for the right. We have the Lord and His guidance. Dasal lang po. We can get through this through the Lord’s grace. Have faith.”

Asked about the possibility of entering another relationship in the future, Custodio said she remains focused on healing. “No, I cannot answer that,” she said. “I am healing and trying to move forward. If it’s the will of our Lord, in the future. Siguro kung bibigyan ka pa ng makakasama na makakatuwang sa buhay…’Yon nga ang sinasabi nila, eventually, your children will have their own family. Siyempre, ikaw tatanda ka mag-isa.

“Sabi nga nila, iba ‘yong meron kang katuwang at kasama sa buhay. But at this point, sinurrender ko na iyan lahat kay Lord,” she pointed out. “If it’s the will of our Lord na meron akong makapartner sa buhay, then so be it. Hindi ko iyan iniisip ngayon.”

Custodio has two children—Charisse and Sean Christopher, the latter from her first marriage to the late Tanauan, Batangas Vice Mayor Julius Caesar Platon II, who died in a car accident in 2018.

This marks the second time Custodio has filed a VAWC complaint against Cale. Her earlier complaint, filed in June 2024 at the Muntinlupa City Prosecutor’s Office, was dismissed. The current case was filed on June 2, 2025 before Deputy Prosecutor Alexis Bartolome at the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.

Custodio began her career with a role in “Magic Kamison” (1991) before becoming a regular cast member of “Ang TV” in 1992. She later appeared in various film and television projects, including “Desperado: Bahala Na sa Itaas” (1999) opposite Ronnie Ricketts. She also released two albums, “My First” and “New Horizons,” under Star Music.
