Electrified vehicles accounted for nearly three in every 10 new cars sold as buyers increasingly embraced hybrid and electric models.

Filipinos are warming up to electrified vehicles at a much faster pace, giving carmakers another reason to expand their lineup beyond traditional gasoline and diesel models.

Sales of electrified vehicles jumped 49.2% in June from May, far outpacing the 10% growth posted by internal combustion engine vehicles, according to CAMPI President Jose Maria Atienza. He attributed the increase to improving supply, making it easier for buyers to get their hands on more hybrid and electric models.

Battery electric vehicles, hybrid electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles accounted for 28% of all cars sold in June, up six percentage points from May.

The faster growth of electrified vehicles gives consumers more choices as manufacturers continue introducing new models, while encouraging businesses across the automotive industry to invest in charging infrastructure, after-sales support and new technologies that could reshape the market in the coming years.

The industry’s overall sales reached 37,231 units in June, its strongest monthly performance of 2026 so far.
