“All you need is the gulay and the meat!”
Most cooking tutorials follow the standard format: the chef introduces the dish, shows close-up shots of the ingredients, and walks you through the step-by-step process. But only a few bring creativity to these guides.
Take content creator Ralph Novero, for example, who recently went viral on social media for his video tutorial on the popular Filipino dish, sinigang. Instead of following the same scripted format, he went with a different and unique direction.
He turned the recipe into a Tagalog song parody based on Justin Bieber’s hit track, “Beauty and a Beat.” By swapping the original lyrics with a short guide and the dish’s main ingredients, he had his viewers hooked through his catchy beats and comedic charm.
Wacky content aside, Novero was making a bigger point. In his caption, he wrote: “NO TO AI SONG COVERS!! BRING BACK TAGALOG PARODIES!!,” celebrating originality and humor reminiscent of Michael V. and Mikey Bustos’s parodies.

His talent doesn’t stop there. Behind the viral video lies a content creator who is actually musically and artistically inclined, having scored previous Puregold CinePanalo short films such as “Our One and Only Bab(o)y (2025),” “Si Nadia at ang kanyang mga kuro-kuro (2025),” and “Saan Ako Pinaglihi? (2024).”
Novero is also a top performing architecture graduate at PHINMA-University of Pangasinan, as well as an agricultural advocate. His study, “Addayo: Promoting Agroforestry Through Biomimetic Approach of an Agroecotourist Complex in Agno, Pangasinan” was awarded Best Thesis – Manuscript and Best Thesis – Overall for its use of biomimetic architecture with local agroforestry to support his town’s farming and tourism sectors.
Together, these reflect Novero’s identity as a Filipino creative whose work blends local cuisine, culture, and art.
His creative approach has caught the attention of major brands and government organizations online. On TikTok, the official Spotify Philippines account acknowledged his creative twist, leaving a comment, “you cooked.” On Facebook, the official Tourism Philippines page featured his sinigang cover in one of their promotional posts.
It isn’t a one-time thing, either. He previously released a dinengdeng tutorial set to Tame Impala’s “Dracula,” and most recently dropped a pinakbet guide set to One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful.”
