Doc Willie Ong says Stage 4 cancer is stable, thanks supporters for prayers

Doctor content creator shares a health update while continuing immunotherapy, expresses gratitude for overwhelming public support.

Medical doctor, health content creator, and former senatorial candidate Dr. Willie Ong assured his millions of followers that his condition remains stable as he continues treatment for Stage 4 sarcoma.

In a Facebook post on Monday, Ong shared a brief health update, saying he remains under immunotherapy and targeted therapy while entrusting his recovery to God.

“Kamusta sa lahat ng mahal kong Followers. Stable ang condition ko (Sarcoma stage 4), tinutuloy ko ang maintenance na gamutan sa akin na Immunotherapy at Targeted Therapy. Minsan good news, minsan meron bad news, bahala na ang Diyos sa buhay ko. I love you all very much,” Ong wrote.

He also thanked supporters for their continued prayers, ending his message with, “Maraming salamat sa mga prayers ninyo para sa akin.”

Ong first revealed his cancer diagnosis in 2024 after doctors discovered a massive 16-by-13-by-12-centimeter sarcoma deep inside his abdomen. The tumor was located behind his heart and in front of his spine, partially obstructing his esophagus and major blood vessels, causing severe back pain and difficulty swallowing before treatment began.

After completing six cycles of chemotherapy, Ong’s medical team reported that the tumor had significantly shrunk. He has since transitioned to immunotherapy and targeted therapy under the care of renowned oncologist Dr. Ang Peng Tiam of Parkway Cancer Centre in Singapore.

Earlier this year, Ong disclosed that his cancer had become stable, meaning doctors had not observed further tumor growth or spread while he continued treatment.
