“Tayo Lang Ang Nakakaalam” offers a refreshing challenge compared to the actor’s previous television projects.

Actor Martin del Rosario returns to the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival as part of the entry “Tayo Lang Ang Nakakaalam,” hinting that audiences can expect a story filled with secrets.

“Yes, very quiet, tahimik kasi ’di ba sabi nga ng title, ‘Tayo Lang Ang Nakakaalam,’ so may mga sikreto akong hindi ibubunyag. Dapat panoorin niyo.”

He added: “Yes, it is a queer movie. Tatalakayin nito ’yung complexity ng queer relationship. Usually, marami kayong mga bagay na hindi masabi kasi mahuhusgahan kayo ng kapwa niyo.”

Known for portraying several LGBTQIA+ characters, Martin emphasized that he hopes to be recognized as a versatile actor.

“Hindi naman kasi iba-iba naman na ’yung ginagawa ko. Hindi lang naman gay roles ang ginagawa ko. May kontrabida role—actually halo-halo—and I’d rather makilala as a versatile actor na kahit anong character, kaya kong gawin.”

He added that “Tayo Lang Ang Nakakaalam” offered a refreshing challenge compared to his previous television projects.

“Parang iba siya sa ginagawa ko. Itong film namin, very quiet, very restrained, and iba ito sa ginagawa ko sa TV. So iba as an actor na maka-try ng iba’t ibang genre, iba’t ibang style, of course, with the guidance of our director.”

Martin also praised his co-star Miguel Ordon, saying their chemistry came naturally. “Okay si Miguel. Hindi naman nahirapan with the chemistry, andoon na kasi comfortable kami agad-agad. Mahirap mag-work nang walang chemistry.”

“Tayo Lang Ang Nakakaalam” follows individuals brought together by a crisis, each trying to care for someone they love while carrying their own fears and unspoken truths.

The 2026 Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival will run from August 6 to 16, with screenings in participating cinemas across Metro Manila.
