Barbie Forteza turns 29 with ‘Tween Hearts’ reunion, eyes box-office win for ‘Saving Cherry’

Kapuso star celebrates birthday with Alden Richards, castmates, and charity visit as she hopes for a strong theatrical run.

As she marked her 29th birthday, actress Barbie Forteza expressed gratitude for the overwhelming love and greetings she received, while hoping the same support carries over to her upcoming film, “Saving Cherry.”

During a recent press interview, the Kapuso star shared that her biggest birthday wish is for the movie to have a successful theatrical run when it opens in cinemas on September 2.

“Birthday wish? Parang wala naman ako mahihiling pa pero sana maging successful ang theatrical release ng ‘Saving Cherry.’ Iyon na lang ang aking wish. Bukod doon, puro pasasalamat sa lahat ng pagmamahal,” she said.

The Ivan Andrew Payawal film features an ensemble cast led by Barbie, alongside Khalil Ramos, Mikee Quintos, Mika Salamanca, Kokoy de Santos, Sassa Gurl, AC Bonifacio, JC Alcantara, and Joey Marquez.

Away from work, Barbie welcomed another year by giving back. Ahead of her birthday on July 31, she spent time with children and teenagers under the care of CRIBS Foundation, a child welfare organization.

She also celebrated with an intimate gathering that turned into a nostalgic reunion with close friends in the entertainment industry. Joining her were former “Tween Hearts” co-stars Alden Richards, Joyce Ching, Kristoffer Martin, and Bea Binene, delighting longtime fans who have followed their friendship since their early years in showbiz.

Event coverage company Nice Print shared moments from the gathering on social media, writing, “Barbie Forteza’s birthday felt like a reunion with our childhood.”

Following the celebration, Barbie is now focused on promoting “Saving Cherry” ahead of its theatrical release. She is also preparing for another major project as she teams up with Sharon Cuneta in the upcoming series “Honor Thy Mother.”
