Actress sheds polished image in chaotic comedy as viral teaser draws praise for her bold, uninhibited performance.

Barbie Forteza is embracing a wilder side in the upcoming Regal Entertainment comedy “Saving Cherry,” where a bride’s perfectly planned future falls apart after discovering her fiancé’s betrayal.

The newly released teaser follows Cherry, played by Forteza, as she catches her fiancé Jude, portrayed by Khalil Ramos, cheating just before their wedding.

Instead of dwelling on heartbreak, Cherry sets out on a chaotic road trip with her bridesmaids—played by AC Bonifacio, Mika Salamanca, Mikee Quintos, and Sassa Gurl—while Jude desperately chases after them in hopes of winning her back.

Speaking about the project, Forteza hinted that audiences should expect something completely different from her usual image. “Mukha lang immaculate ‘yung pinost ko, pero it’s going to be a wild movie kaya abangan n’yo po ’yan,” she said.

The teaser has already drawn positive reactions online, with viewers praising Forteza’s uninhibited comedic performance and expressive acting. Many described the role as a refreshing departure from the polished romantic characters she is often known for.

Directed by Ivan Andrew Payawal, “Saving Cherry” serves as what Forteza calls an early birthday gift, ahead of her 29th birthday.  The film opens in Philippine cinemas on September 2.
