Stars credit TV5 series for faith renewal, call it an “answered prayer” amid personal struggles.

For Shaina Magdayao and JM de Guzman, stars of the drama series “My Bespren Emman,” the show is more than just another project—it is “an answered prayer,” shaped by their own spiritual struggles.

JM said the series became a turning point in his personal journey, helping him reconnect with his faith.

“Sobrang thankful ko simula nang matanggap ko ‘tong project na ‘to. Before ko kasi siyang matanggap, nag-struggle kasi ako sa spiritual life and spiritual connection kay God pero habang ginagawa namin ‘to kinakausap-kausap ko si Emman (God), since I really prayed for the role,” the actor said.

He shared that prayer and meditation became part of his daily routine throughout the production.

“Nag-meditate talaga ako and prayed para magkaroon rin ng connection kay God. I did it every day before shoot and kung nasa bahay lang ako, before I sleep. Masarap siya sa pakiramdam. Nagkaroon ako ng clarity,” he added.

Shaina echoed the same sentiment, calling the project a meaningful return to her spiritual grounding.

“I kept on saying this is an answered prayer. Alam niyo naman po na lumaki na ako sa harap niyong lahat, na gumagawa ng pelikula at mga teleserye na kagaya nito, and for some reason, noong maging teenager nawala doon ang focus,” she said.

She also expressed gratitude that the series has been extended for a second book, allowing them to continue telling a story that resonates with viewers.

“Tapos may bonus pa na tumagal pa nga ng Book 2 kaya it’s beautiful to be able to be given this opportunity na gumawa ng ganitong klaseng show na, gaya nga po ng sabi ninyo, wala na tayong napapanood na ganito,” she added.

Now part of TV5’s Hapon Champion lineup and also available to Kapamilya audiences, “My Bespren Emman” continues to build a loyal multiplatform following through its story of friendship, family, resilience, and second chances.
