Ex-TNT champ Jeramie Heitmann gets 4-chair turn on ‘The Voice Australia’
Filipina singer Jeramie Heitmann just added another major chapter to a journey that began on Philippine television nearly a decade ago.
Now 26 and based in Mount Barker, South Australia, Heitmann—then performing as Jeramie Sanico—competed on “Tawag ng Tanghalan” on “It’s Showtime” in 2016. Entering as a student belter in October that year, she quickly won over both the judges and viewers, eventually becoming a five-time defending champion and the first semi-finalist to secure a spot for that quarter.
But just as the semi-finals began in January 2017, Jeramie made the unexpected decision to withdraw. She cited personal priorities at the time, leaving the competition on good terms—and fans wondering what could have been.
Nearly nine years later, that question seems to have found an answer.
On “The Voice Australia 2026,” Jeramie delivered Celine Dion’s “Because You Loved Me,” prompting all four coaches—Kate Miller-Heidke, Melanie C, Ronan Keating, and Richard Marx—to turn their chairs.
Miller-Heidke praised her vocal strength, while Melanie C was moved to tears. After the coaches fought for her, Jeramie ultimately chose Team Richard.
The performance was dedicated to her husband, two children, and her father, who traveled from the Philippines to witness the audition.
Beyond television, Jeramie has built a career as a freelance singer and events host, while sharing gospel music and covers online as “The Singing Mama.” Her music, including “SABBATH REST,” is also available on Spotify.
Jeramie will head straight into the Knockout rounds. This is where she will have to compete directly against her fellow teammates on Team Richard to keep her spot. If she survives the upcoming cuts, she will advance to the Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and hopefully the Grand Finale.
