After nearly two decades as a Kapuso star, the actress embraces a second wind as she reunites with Wilbert Ross for “Pee Mak PH.”

After years of building her name in the entertainment industry, Bea Binene is embracing what she considers another meaningful opportunity to grow and prove herself in a new phase of her career.

Having already worked on several projects under Viva Artists Agency, Bea remains grateful for the trust the agency continues to give her, especially as she takes on another major project alongside Wilbert Ross in the upcoming Filipino adaptation of “Pee Mak.”

For Bea, the opportunity is more than simply another acting job. It represents a second wind in a career that has gone through different stages, allowing her to explore new roles, partnerships, and opportunities while continuing to establish herself beyond the image audiences have known for years.

Speaking during the story conference for “Pee Mak PH,” Bea expressed her gratitude for the continued support she has received from Viva and the people behind her career.

“Very grateful rin po ako sa Viva for the opportunity, pero siyempre, gusto ko rin po i-acknowledge ang ginawa rin ng GMA before. I wouldn’t be here without them. I wouldn’t be here kung hindi po nangyari ang mga nangyari dati. Kumbaga, lahat po ng experiences, lahat ng training, malaking bagay po doon ang GMA. But, of course, right now, I am very, very thankful to Viva sa pagmamahal, opportunity, at tiwala na ibinibigay po nila sa akin,” she said.

Bea’s journey with Viva began after her exclusive contract with GMA Network ended. After nearly two decades as a Kapuso star, she moved into a new phase of her career and signed with Viva Artists Agency in September 2022.

Since then, she has taken on various projects under the agency, making her current chapter less about starting over and more about continuing to build on the opportunities she has been given.

For Bea, her years with GMA remain an important part of that journey. She credits the network for the experiences and training that helped shape her professionally, while also recognizing Viva for giving her opportunities to continue growing.

The actress also feels fortunate to have fans who have remained supportive of her career, including her partnership with Wilbert, which has developed into the much-talked-about #WilBea tandem.

“It just feels overwhelming in a good way po, and nakaka-bilib kasi hindi lang po oras ang ibinibigay ng fans, eh. Hindi lang support online, pero kahit ang ideas nila. When they thought of that community pantry, ’di ba? Parang ang unique na idea nila mismo ang magpa-marching band sa mall,” she shared.

She emphasized that their supporters have remained present even when she and Wilbert pursue projects separately.

“Sila po ang pinakaunang customer namin sa negosyo namin. Walang hanggang pasasalamat po, kasi ramdam na ramdam talaga namin ang support nila no matter what project that we do,” she said. “Kahit about the love team, mayroon din kasi mga solo and ginagawa outside love team. Kahit na hindi po love team.”

Now, Bea is preparing for another significant opportunity with “Pee Mak PH,” where she will headline the Filipino adaptation with Wilbert.

The film is based on the 2013 Thai blockbuster “Pee Mak,” which reimagined the legendary Mae Nak Phra Khanong ghost story through a mix of horror, romance, and comedy.

The story follows Mak as he returns home from war to reunite with his wife, Nak, while his friends gradually uncover the frightening truth surrounding her.

Joining Bea and Wilbert in the Filipino adaptation are Vandolph Quizon, Jairus Aquino, TJ Valderrama, and Gian Bernardino, who will portray the barkada at the center of the story.

For Bea, the project comes at a time when she is able to look at her career with greater appreciation. Rather than viewing her journey as simply a comeback, she sees the opportunities she continues to receive as a chance to keep growing, take on new challenges, and make the most of the trust placed in her.
