‘I would never interfere:’ Thea Astley denies role in Elijah Canlas-Miles Ocampo split

Singer-actress Thea Astley refutes rumors of interfering in Elijah Canlas and Miles Ocampo’s relationship.

Thea Astley has broken her silence over the third-party allegations that followed photos and videos of her with actor Elijah Canlas circulating online earlier this month.

The public sighting fueled speculation about Canlas’ relationship with actress Miles Ocampo, with some netizens immediately accusing Astley of being involved in their rumored split.

Astley denied the allegations, stressing that she would never intentionally interfere in another relationship.

“I would never ever willingly come between a relationship. Gets ko ‘yong pain nung mga fans… Naiiyak tuloy ako… But also I hope you could give me a little bit of grace,” she said.

She clarified that she and Canlas are “just friends” and explained why the accusations personally affected her.

“I know what that feeling is like, so I would never ever willingly come between a relationship,” Astley said.

The singer-actress also opened up about being called “kabit” and “malandi” online, saying the backlash became more painful after seeing her parents’ reactions to the comments.

“Parang I also feel hurt for them,” she admitted.

Astley also reflected on her decision to address the controversy, saying, “I’m also learning right now that, maybe, sometimes, it is better to speak.”

Her clarification drew sympathy from netizens who questioned why much of the backlash appeared to fall on Astley despite the limited information surrounding the viral photos.

“Kawawa talaga palagi mga babae sa mga ganito,” one wrote.

Another questioned why Canlas had not publicly addressed the situation, saying, “Sana nagsalita ‘yong Elijah at prinotektahan si Thea!”

Some also pointed out that the circulated photos alone did not establish a third-party relationship.

Canlas, who has previously spoken about navigating a difficult period in his personal life, has yet to publicly address the issue. 

Meanwhile, the controversy continues to fuel speculation surrounding his relationship with Ocampo, whose past relationship with Canlas has included a breakup in 2023 and a reported reconciliation in 2024–2025.
