Nina, Thor urge fans to post snippets, not full concerts

OPM artists ask fans to share short snippets instead, citing respect for live production teams.

OPM icons Nina and Thor are speaking out against concertgoers who film and upload full live performances online, urging fans to show respect for the effort behind each show and stick to posting short snippets instead.

Thor highlighted the hard work involved in staging a live production, emphasizing that full-show bootlegs disregard the creative team behind the scenes. “Respeto na lang din sa mga vloggers na nagpo-post ng mga shows ng iba,” he began. “Kasi syempre gumastos ‘yong mga tao, maraming nag-isip for that, maraming nag-conceptualize, maraming arreglo na mga songs na ginawa.”

Thor explained that while short clips for reels are completely fine, recording entire concerts crosses the line out of respect for everyone who worked hard on the event.

Top Suzara echoed the sentiment, pointing out that live performances are crafted to be a special experience specifically for those who made the effort to attend in person.

Nina shared that she has dealt with her fair share of audiences recording entire sets, particularly during intimate gigs where venue screening is difficult. While she acknowledges that short clips help promote the artists and allow fans to share their excitement, she stressed that uploading entire shows undermines paying attendees.

“Snippets, okay. Pero the whole show, parang kawawa naman ‘din ‘yong nagbayad at nanood physically,” Nina said, adding that monitoring every upload is an overwhelming task to manage.

Despite the prevalence of online videos, Nina reminded fans that nothing replaces the energy of a live show. “Mas maganda naman nanood kayo physically. Iba rin yon sa nasa YouTube na. I’m telling you… Maamoy nyo kami, makikita nyo kami in person,” she added with a laugh.
