Ends up settling a ₱1,380 bill after confrontation with restaurant owner
A dinner at a restaurant in Cavite led to a heated confrontation after the owner allegedly caught a couple doing a “Sharon”—packing cooked meat into a plastic bag during their meal.
The incident allegedly happened at Cusina De Cavite, which offers its samgyupsal buffet for ₱199. As with most unlimited buffets, the deal is meant for diners to eat inside the restaurant—not take food home.
In a video being widely circulated online, the reported owner can be seen approaching the couple’s table—and asked them to show him the plastic bag they have.
The male customer repeatedly denied bagging food, but the owner stood by the accusation and called the act “panglalamang,” saying it was an old modus that some samgyupsal restaurants had already encountered.
An argument followed, with the man insisting that they were willing to pay ₱199 for the food.
That did not satisfy the owner, reiterating the unspoken rule that the payment only covered food eaten inside the restaurant—not take-out.
“Huwag mo akong susubukan, ha. Huwag mo akong style-an ng style mo,” the owner said.
The confrontation continued as the group moved toward the counter, where the owner warned the man not to repeat the act at the restaurant.
The couple’s total bill eventually reached ₱1,380, which the owner required them to settle. The owner said they could leave after paying the bill and promising not to repeat the incident, rather than being charged an additional penalty.
The man later tried to return the cooked meat, but the owner refused to take it back.
The owner also pointed to the restaurant’s ₱199 unlimited buffet as a way of keeping the offering affordable, saying food losses were more difficult for the small business to absorb.
“Kaya niyo nga ginagawa ‘yan kasi kapos kayo, di ba?” he said. “Huwag mo na lang uulitin. Hindi nakakatuwa ‘yan.”
