Its publisher, Larong Atin, is also behind games inspired by “Bagani” and “Darna.”
Avisala, Encantadiks! Missed the magical world of “Encantadia”? You can now bring the hit fantaserye to the tabletop with a board game inspired by the series.
Local board game publisher Larong Atin has released “Encantadia Chronicles Sang’gre: War of Gems,” an area-control card game featuring characters, locations, and brilyantes from the show.
The game is getting two public unveilings this week. It first appeared at this year’s ManilART, running from Oct. 14 to 18, at the SMX Aura Convention Center in Pasay. It will also be unveiled at Design Week Philippines, scheduled for Oct. 16 to 18, at the Likhang Filipino Exhibition Halls in Pasay.
“Encantadia Chronicles Sang’gre: War of Gems” was first teased last May at the inaugural Asian Board Games Festival Philippines, held at the Bayanihan Center in Pasig.
The game is designed for two to four players aged 14 and up, with an estimated playing time of 30 minutes.
Each copy includes 28 unit cards, four brilyante cards, five location cards, four guide cards, 28 power tokens, 14 brilyante charge tokens, and one random brilyante figure.
Players can collect figures representing the four brilyantes: tubig, apoy, lupa, and hangin.
How to play
Each player takes charge of one of the four kingdoms of Encantadia: Ademya, Hathoria, Lireo, and Sapiro.
Players use unit cards and their brilyante abilities to conquer locations across Encantadia. The units feature characters from the series, including the Sang’gre.
To conquer a location, a player must have the highest power there. The player who controls the most locations at the end of the game wins.
The Larong Atin team designed and developed the game’s rules and gameplay.
The game’s artists are Amos the Fanboy, who illustrated Sang’gre Alena, Sang’gre Pirena, Sang’gre Amihan, and Sang’gre Danaya; Lowe Beltran, who illustrated Banak at Nakba, Ulakra, Muros, and Kalasag; Bernce Llamo, who illustrated Tulisang Gunikar, Gurna, Agane, Lireo Skyship, Aquil, Sundalong Sapiryan, and Wantuk; and Dave Quindoy, who illustrated Nymfa, Imaw, Sundalong Hathor, Sundalong Lireo, and Mandirigma.
Moses Villalobos modeled the brilyante figures.
In a separate post, Larong Atin announced its first-ever “War of Gems: Elemental Trials,” a special event on ManilART’s final day, Oct. 18. Players will have a chance to win a gem of their choice. The event will take place at the Lounge Area from 3 p.m. onward.
Larong Atin is also behind other licensed games, including “Bagani: The Card Game,” based on ABS-CBN’s 2018 fantasy drama series, and “Darna at ang Nawawalang Bato,” based on Mars Ravelo’s classic comics.
