The Popstar Royalty quietly watched “Finale” alongside husband Matteo Guidicelli as her mentor marked 40 years in showbiz.
Some gestures of support speak louder than words. For Sarah Geronimo, showing up for her mentor and close friend Regine Velasquez’s milestone concert was one way of honoring the woman who helped shape her career.
The Popstar Royalty made a low-key appearance at Regine’s three-night sold-out “Finale” concert series at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, which celebrated the Asia’s Songbird’s 40 years in the entertainment industry.
In a video uploaded online, Sarah was spotted watching the show from a private suite alongside her husband, Matteo Guidicelli. Away from the spotlight, the singer quietly witnessed a milestone in the life of someone who has played a significant role in her personal and professional journey.

Their bond dates back to “Star for a Night,” the singing competition hosted by Regine in 2002, where a then 14-year-old Sarah emerged as grand champion. The victory became a defining moment in Sarah’s rise to becoming one of the Philippines’ most celebrated performers.
Beyond their shared love of music, Regine has long been a mentor and second mother figure to Sarah. Their relationship has endured through the years, including their joint concert, “Unified,” in 2020.
Sarah’s understated appearance at “Finale” was a fitting tribute to the woman who helped pave the way for her career. Sometimes, support means simply showing up and letting someone else have their moment.
