One year and a lifetime to go for Ara Davao.
Ara Davao, daughter of late actor Ricky Davao, commemorated the first death anniversary of her father through a heartfelt social media post.
On Instagram on Friday, Ara shared several photos of her father and wrote, “One year and a lifetime to go.” She also added, “Miss you so much, Pa.”
Among the uploaded photos, Ara included snapshots of precious moments they shared with her father, who passed away last year.
“Dear Pa, I can’t believe we made it through one whole year without you. Some days, it just feels like yesterday because the pain never left.”
“I miss seeing you shine in your work and having you as a personal photographer. I miss you in big, important milestones and in ordinary days at home. Some days are harder than others, especially when I think of all the things I didn’t get to say and do.”
“But some days, I remember you with laughter because of the silly things you did, the playful Lolo you were. I always think of what you would say when I make decisions, big or small.”
“I’ll spend the rest of my life wishing we had one more day. I’ll spend the rest of my life wishing we had one more meal or even just one more moment. No matter how old I get, I won’t stop missing you.”
“I’ll make sure my nieces, nephews, and future kids grow up hearing about you. I know some wounds will never heal, and that’s okay with me because it means I’ll always remember you and carry your love.”
“I’ll miss and love you forever, Pa. I’ll keep trying to live in a way that will honor you and make you proud.”
A year ago, Frederick Charles Caballes Davao, professionally known as Ricky Davao, passed away at the age of 63.
It may be recalled that in 2024, it was reported that he had been diagnosed with a terminal illness, which was not publicly disclosed.
Davao was previously married to actress Jackie Lou Blanco, with whom he had three children: Kenneth, Arabella, and Rikki Mae. He was also the younger brother of Bing Davao and the son of veteran actor Charlie Davao.
He was last seen as part of the cast of the musical show “Silver Lining Redux.”
I’ll miss and love you forever, Pa. I’ll keep trying to live in a way that will honor you and make you proud.
