Qualified investors can earn a fixed 6.26% annual return as proceeds help fund environmental and social projects.

BDO Unibank is raising fresh funds through a new sustainability bond offering, allowing qualified investors to earn fixed returns while helping finance projects tied to environmental and social development.

The bank is issuing at least ₱5 billion worth of peso-denominated fixed-rate sustainability bonds with a 6.26% annual coupon rate and a 1.5-year term. The offer runs from July 9 to July 21, with listing scheduled for July 28.

The minimum investment is ₱500,000, with additional placements accepted in increments of ₱100,000.

The funds raised are expected to strengthen BDO’s capacity to finance businesses and projects that generate jobs, expand access to financing, and support environmental and social initiatives under the bank’s Sustainable Finance Framework.

The Securities and Exchange Commission confirmed that the planned issuance complies with the ASEAN Sustainability Bond Standards, allowing the bonds to be marketed as sustainability-focused investments.

The offering is BDO’s sixth sustainability bond issuance since 2022 and its second this year. The bank said it has raised a total of ₱386.7 billion through similar bond offerings over the past four years, highlighting growing investor interest in sustainability-linked financing.
